"On 1 December 1952 a new center for technical and experimental research in the
effective jamming of foreign radio stations was opened at the VEP Combine in Riga.
The Combine produces electrical machinery and radio equipment.
"The pew Research Center is studying the production possibilities of a new jamming
device known as 'Apparatus LV', inVented by the Soviet technicians (Thu) Leontovics
and (fnu) B120.41.
"The Center was employing some 360 scientific workers at the end of December 1952."

Aleamanarovidarguluaki. an eminent theoretical physicist who has done considerable
work on sound waves and acts as a sonsultant for the Ministry of Electrical Industry.
It also lists a Valentin Petrovich Volo in, an electrical engineer who is Chairman
of the Laboratory fop High Frequency ec othsrmy under the Academy of Sciences me w%
received a Stalin Prise in 1942 for high frequency tempering,
