1. Total debts of VEB Carl Zeiss Jena to the East German government over and above
the 1955 plans by the end of August 1955 amounted to 13 million DME.
2. Of the ten electron microscopes scheduled for production by the plant during 1955,
all have already been sold. The Main Administration for Precision Mechanics and
Optics of the Ministry for General Machine Construction now has to be consulted in
regard to any further orders for this instrument that the plant obtains. The main
administration rules regarding the order of priority in the delivery of the orderff
regardless of the sequence in which the orders were received.
3. The Institute for Animal Disease Research on the Island of Riams. had placed
an order for an electron microscope shad to
cancel that order and place an order for a similar instrument with VEB Carl Zeiss
Jena. The sale price will be 110,000 EM, including a specially ordered high-
vacuum field accessory.1
