The old barracks installation which was entirely tact consisted of about 5 four-story buildings, located parallel along the northern side of the road to Elbing (Elblag) (540101 N/ 19?23' E) and a large barracks yard which was surrounded by other building blocks and brick buildings. The main entrance was after the second building of the 5 houses along the road. It seemed as if the installation was fully occupied. 2. There was intensive vehicular traffic from the barracks installation toward the airfield which was located about 3.5 km. to the east. Intensive military training including tactical training was conducted within the barracks installation. Units of recruits ~,vith close cropped hair and armed ,R'i th sr:all arms were seen marching from the installation on the road to Flbing toward the east. During the fall of 11054, young recruits were inducted to military service, including a recricit of the 1934 class who had allegedly to serve for-3 years. The Polish Air Force personnel quartered in the barracks installation were the regular Polish uniforms of light blue service color and cans with. light blue ribbons. It was occasionally observed that the old ; lr force uniform .,.,,is worn by officers. Comment. IMarienbu_rg barracks installation is believed to be occupied by a ?i fi;.~hter division headquarters and two subordinate fi^'hter regiments.
