1. The following are important personnel in the of VEB Carl Zeiss Jena:
2. According to the 1954 production plan, the following were to have been produced: 3,000
moving picture apparatuses (Kino-Geraete), 300,000 electric bells, and 100,000 exposure
meters. In addition, there was an order for the USSR for more than one million DIM
worth of telephone meters (Telefonuhren), ship's clock and special clocks. Only 40
percent of this order was filled in 1954. The production quota for 1955, not including
the State subsidy, amounts to 12,500,000 DME.
The plant is hindered in its production by raw material.shortages of polys~l,brass
alloysand rv aluminum. the allocations amount to approximately 55 or 60 percent of the
requirements. -

1.. All the machinery at the plant is old. For example, the]athes, drilling machinesand
milling machines are inaccurate by as much as 0.2 mm. where tolerances of between'0.05
and.0.2 mm. are specified.
The rejection proportions in the various departments of the Weimar plant are as follows:
