1. At 0330 on 7 July 1955, a column with 4 two-load 203-mm howitzers,
10-tractors with T-34 chassis,and 10 trucks entered the Gentral-
feldzeugmeister Kaserne (2001) in Brandenburg from the direction of
the Brandenburg-Altstadt railroad station. On 8 and 9 July, guns
and vehicles were cleaned in the installation. Twenty large tarpaulins
were spread out for drying in the barracks yard on both days.;;.*..
2. On 4 July. 85-mm and 37-mm AA guns and trucks were assembled in the
Friedrich-Franz Kaserne (2201) in Neuruppin. At 1930, 4 trucks towing
37-mm AA guns left the installation for the railroad station. At 2300, 25X1
6 x 85-mm and 9 x 37 mm AA guns and trucks were seen on a train at
the Neuruppin freight station. Two trucks with 2 x 37-am AA guns
were seen in front of the loading ramp ready for entraining. In the
evening on 5 July. the quarters of the AAA unit in the Friedrich-
Franz Kaserne were dark. 2
3. On 8 July, the unit from the Alte Grenadier Kaserne (2225) in
Neustrelitz had returned. The installation was occupied by an
estimated 300 soldiers. Prior to 7 July, the restricted area on
Gerhart Hauptmannstrasse in Neustrelitz was only lightly occupied,
while the officer billets were fully lighted. After 8 July, the
installation was again occupied to capacity by about 500 soldiers
wearing red-bordered black epaulets with tank insignia. The quarters
were fully lit. Between 6 and 8 July. the Neue Infanterie Kaserne
(2221) in Neustrelitz was occupied by some 250 soldiers wearing red-
bordered black epaulets. On 8 July. the Schlossgarten restricted area
(2227) in Neustrelitz appeared to be konly lightly occupied. 3
It was learned, that 12 JS-1 or JS-2 tanks were unloaded at the
Neubrandenburg freight station on 1 une. Numerous fresh imprints of
tank tracks led to the Panzer Kaserne 2181) in Neubrandenburg. On 4
27 June, 6 JS-1 or JS-2 tanks were unloaded and left for the installation.
