Air Acti.vit?y : During good weathers units of the 24th Air Army were engaged in very in- tensive air activity along the usual pattern. On 2 August, approximately 33 IL-28's and UIL-28's were counted at Welzow airfield and conducted local as well as high-altitude flights.1 On 5 August, 48 IL-10's landed at Doeberitz and parked along the northwestern edge. There was no change in the complement of 43 IL-10's previously observed along, the northwest.- ern edge*? 3.. Construction Projects: Because of the high work quota coupled with low pay, many skilled workers left Gross Doelln airfield. Early in August, about 40 carpenters of the Bau-Union Magdeburg quit their jobs, in some instances without re- lease papers. Their places have been taken by apprentices, a fact which has delayed the progress of the work.
