The following is a summary of information on Soviet-occupied airfields and
la Generals
Intensive air activity was continued by the units of the 214th Air Army.
Alternate, airfields are being prepared for the use during the summer and
fall maneuvers. The replacement of MiG-],51s by NiG-17's and the return
of an undetermined number of planes of the former type-to the USSR may
account for the apparent reduced MiG-15 strength at Jueterbog airfield.
2. Aircraft Counts
Briesens 42 IL-280s and 1 LI-2 on 14 July.
Doeberitas 143 IL-109s on 9 July.
Finows 58 MiG-15 ? s on 30 June.
Grossenhains None on 10 July. Three helicopters,, presumably carrying
members of a construction commission,, landed on the fieh
at about 1200 hours on 10 July and took off again at
1600 hours.
Jueterbogs At least 30 MtG-1 's and )LtG-17's and 14 IL-28's on
8 July.
Koethens 30 liG-15's on 8 July.
Neuruppins 34 MiG-15's and 1 IL-28 on 9 July.
Oranienburgs Approximately 36 IL-28's on 8 July.
Rechlin-Laerzs Approximately 60 MiG-15's on 11 July.
Schoenefelds 28 LI-21s,, 1 IL-12 and 3 PO-21s on 13 July.
Stendals 28 IL-10's on 9 July.

3. Air Activitys
Formation flights of up to 9 IL-28'$ were repeatedly observed. Fourteen tr&naport
planes landed at Jueterbog at 1600 hours on 8 July,, taking off again at 180 hours;.

b. Reinsdorf Airfields Preparations were being made to make the field ready
a, Schlotheims A fenced-in area measuring approximately 2000 x 600 meters,

July, Eight cars with one tank truck, an ambulance, a fire truck,, four
trucks and billeting equipment arrived on that day from Brandis,? Trrely,

between 12 and 14 July. A?total of 140 carloads of metal sheets were
scheduled to arrive,l
for occupation by 18 July."

Twenty-five railroad tank cars arrived at Werneuchen airfield on 13 July.
A train consisting of one express train coach, five converted boxcars,
eight boxcars, seven flatcars and one kitchen car, moved from Brest-I4.tovsk
to Welzow on 12 July.3

Miscellaneouss
a. Between 15 and 20 June, 300 to 350 recruits arrived at the Doeberitz Air
Technical School for basic training,
b, Control of civil air traffic at Schoenfeld airfield was transferred to
German personnel on 10 July. Soviet civilian aircraft were excluded from
the field as of 11 July. An H 0 hotel has been opened in Dispenses.
