The Ministry of Transportation has jurisdiction over several directorates, each of which is in charge of a branch of transportation such as rail- roads, motor vehicles., river transportation., etc. Each directorate general is in charge of an undetermined number of regional directorates 25X1 which are located in the principal city of each traffic region. 2. Each regional railroad directorate is'subdivided into sections, each of -which is charged with specific duties. The various sections are known by a set of initials., whereas the regional directorates are known tr numbers. The Regional Railroad Directorate of Bucharest, known as No. 1, is divided into the following subordinate sections a. Railroad line construction and engineering works L.C. be e. Line maintenances L Railroad telecommunications s LTC de Freight and passenger traffics abbreviation not known e. Overhaul and repair of rolling stocks abbreviation not known 3. Each of the above sections carries out its own specific activities over the entire area under the jurisdiction of their regional directorate. In every regional directorate there is one section for each specialty, and they are located on the same premises as the directorate general. The only exception is'line maintenance which, depending upon the extent of the traffic" region, may have as maw as ten different sections. Of these sections, one will located within the regional directorate and the othez^s in the principal cities of the region. !s. The line maintenance section is responsible for the maintenance pf 200 to 300 kilometers of track.
