ew telescope mirror lens, two meters in diameter.
2. The telescope as such was not yet finished. All that was shown was the
two-meter lense and mirror arrangement, on a partly silver-plated mount.
This lense is to be incorporated in a telescope for astronomical observa-
tion and for the taking of pictures which will be equipped with an automatic
astronomic regulation device. 1 e entire telescope is to be completed
by the end of 1956 and is to be installed in the Babelsberg Observatory.
The largest telescope mirror lense produced previously by Zeiss Jena had
a dieter of 1.25 meters, was finished in 1954, ands-was destined for the
Hamburg Observatory.
4. The Zeiss shop responsible for the construction of the precent telescope
is designated GgM1 (Gross-Geraete Montage). The telescope was developed
under the leadership 4of enggneers Luthardt (fnu) and Jaensch (fnu)l of
Development Office G (EboG ) L( ~" tr ekl gssla~ 'b 3Be aexAte L. ).
