The n"- the- development of -wbich- had been undertaken
by the Experimental :pesign Office 1 (KoV-1) of VEB Carl Zeiss, Jena,. had
not been completed-as of 26 February 1955, and all work on. it had been'
discontinued. The main reason for stopping work was the difficult'25X1
encountered in properly centering the rotor (Laeufer).
The designer in charge of the ultracentrifuge, Eng. Kaestner, : 0w)-t ms transferred from his design office (KoV-1) and assigned to a V
laboratory. It is not known what specific development projects he-was
given there. _
