1. While fishing in the Gulf'of Finland between 14 and 19 June 1954, a group of
Polish fishing. vessels brought up a naval mine off Tallinnabout 12 miles
from the coast,.
2. Soviet naval minesweepers, which%-were summoned by radio, ordered the Polish
vessels to leave. the area immediately,
3. The Polish vessels were escorted from the area by a Soviet minesweeper and
a Soviet aircraft'flew.'overhead until the fishing'craft had reached the open
sea.
