1 April 1955
1. At 0900 on March 1955, at least 95 truoks
and soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets with
artillery insignia were unloaded at the Genthin railroad station and
left toward Karow-Ziesar. At 1600, a second shipment of 12 x 100-mm
AT guns, approximately 40 trucks and 8 boxcarloads of soldiers wearing
red-bordered black epaulets with artillery insignia was detrained. All
motor vehicles numbers had been painted overl the license later at 25X1
n the rear were covered.

2. After 1830 on 16 March, 11 columns passed over the northern road
bridge (Wilhelm Pieck Bruecke) in Magdeburg and proceeded eastward.
The columns included a total of 12 rocket launchers, 12 medium AA
guns, 1 x 20-mm AA gun, 10 x 57-ma, 4 x 85-m and 8 x 100-mm AT guns,
12 x 120-mm and 2 x 160-mm mortars, 17 mod personnel carriers, 25X1
4 armored scout cars, 1 T-34 tank, 71 sib vehicles, 7 jeeps, 6
ambulances, 17 tank trucks, 16 motorcycles, 23 field kitchens and
321 trucks. The bulk of the columns entered. the Nerrenkrog and Anger
Kasernes (5283/84); other elements entered the Eachrichten Kaserne 25X1
(5286). 2
3. At about 0700 on 12 March, 8 rocket launchers of a new type with 25X1
a caliber of 170 to 200 am, accompanied by soldiers wearing red-
bordered black epaulets with artillery insignia, 15 trucks with
soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets with artillery insignia,
15 trucks with ammunition (projectiles with fins), and 1 radio track
passed through Rathenow. The column as" from the east and proceeded
toward the Wald Kasernen. 3
4. The following shipments were observed at the Dellgow-Doeberitss railroad
station between 13 and 17 March:

5. At 0615 on 9 March, a shipment including 10 new tanks with crated
guns passed through the Britz railroad station and proceeded toward
Templin. 5

14 March. At 0143, 6 x 122-mm field howitzers, approximately 30
trucks and some 150 soldiers were loaded for Forst Zinna.
17 March. At 0252, 6 x 122-mm field howitsers and approximately
30 trucks arrived from Forst Zinna.

6. On 15 March, a shipment of 20 flatcars carrying 20 track-laying
amphibious vehicles went'from Frankfurt/Oder to Eberswalde. 6

Comment. Units of the 19th Gds lees Div which,
transferred on 13 Nerch, presumably to winter exercises
of the division in the Letzling Heath, returned to their installations.
Comment. The rocket launchers of a new type are quite definitely
belie ed to belong to the 25th Gds RL Brig which, along with other
units of the 6th Arty Div, moved on 3 trains from Rathenow to
Doeberitz on 7 March probably to-part in winter exercises
of the let Mecz Div. The unit mentioned
in the present report presumably returned to Rathenow by road.
Comment. This transfer of artillery units of the 1st Mecz
Div to Forst Zinna was confirmed by railroad records.
Comment. This may have been
with new tanks (T-54?), went from Brest-Litovsk to Neustrelitz.
The above-mentioned shipment, however, included approximately 20
tanks.

~ Comment. With this shipment, the Fourth Gads Metz Army 25X1
received a total of approximately 70 track-laying amphibious vehicles
