REMARKS
1. Between 0800 and 1345 on ~3 February 1955, 28 MiG-15s and 2 Yak-lls were
observed at Farndorf airf field. There was a 1010 overcast at an altitude
of about 1000 meters a northwesterly wind of about 8 km~h and good
visibility to the Leitha mountains. No air activity was under w~c All
of the aircraft were covered with tarpaulins. EM were engaged in
removing; snow from almost all aircraft.
2. About 50 men shoveled snow in the barracks area. The Aa gun emplacement
was guarded by :entire: and occupied by 6 x 37-mm AA guns. The following
motor vehicles were observed:
Under the lean-to roofs: 17
in the open ~, 5 trucks
3 van-like tru
4 tank trucks
4 Moskovich-type van-like trucks
The fuel dump was guarded by sentries: wearing blac=c-bordered blue
epaulets. Five tank trucks were parked there. Six additional tank trucks
were parked under the lean-to roofs.
The aircraft repair site and its vicinity were not cleared of snow.
Vehicular traffic observed included:
Trucks with d rifler wearing

Van-like truck all with drivers wearing black-
Ambulance bordered blue epaulets

3. Between 1215 and 1345 an 23 Februax,}y the former agricultural school in
the Brucls~~eitha military post was guarded by a sentry wearing a fur-
lined ooat. The following personnel and motor vehicles were seen
arriving and leaving the headquarters:

The drivers of the motor vehicles wore black-bordered blue pepaulets.2
Comment. Parndorf airfield is still occupied by 1 Soviet
fighter regiment.
Comment. The former agricultural school which is also called
"winter school" was occupied as follows:
Prior to 1951, a kommendatura
from 1951 to 1952, an army unit
after 1952 air force ersonnel from Parndorf, including 10 Soviet
families. in the beginning of 1955 ~20
additional families who were previously housed in private billets
were to move to the winter school. This information has not been
confirmed.
