At 0900 on 15 February 1955, 16 amphibious cars with full tracks arrived by rail at the Zberswalde railroad station. The amphibious oars were subsequently detrained and, at about 1500, moved to the Sahuetzen Kaserne (4342) in Eberswalde, entering the kaserne through the northerh gate. Each vehicle mounted 2 soldiers with black-bordered black epaulets. Distinguishing features of the amphibious oar: Chassis: 7 bogie wheels, 7 track-support rollers, 1 drive sprocket, 1 idler wheel; the bogie wheels had a diameter of about 50 cm. Track: Metal track, about 30 cm wide, links placed at intervals of 10 cm. Len h: About 6 meters Width: About 3.10 meters (tracks); width as measured from inner edge of one trackio inner edge of other track, 2.50 meters. 2. At about 1100 on 15 Februarir 1955, 16 facto w amphibious cars 25X1 on caterpillar tracks were detrained at the berswslde railroad station. They subsequently moved toward the Sehuetzen Kaserne (4342). 1 25X1 3. At 1400 on 18 Febriry 1955, the following materiel was entrained at the Eberswalde railroad station: six-wheel armored personnel carriers and some with twin-barreled machine guns, 25X1 approximately 10 ruc a and 2 field kitchens. The train 25X1 left northward at about 100. 4. At 0840 on 14 February 1955, the following shipment from Altstrelitz was dispatched to Bernau from Oranienburg: 12 boxcars with soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets, 2 sealed boxcars, 6 flatcars with sideracks with 7 canvas-covered AA guns of about 76 mm, 16 trucks including 4 with 25 mm AA guns, 1 ambulance, 1 workshop truck 1 Jeep and 1 sedan. 25X1 25X1 5. On 19 Febru$rg,the following shipment from Fueretenwalde was dispatched to Bernau from Oranienburg at 1330: 12 boxcars with soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets; 2 sealed boxcars, flatcars with siderscks with 8 canvas-covered heavy AT guns (?) of at least 122 mm, 7 heavy prime movers: is Lu&inr No 5783, canvas-oovere guns of about 76 mm, 24 truck op track. 25X1 CLASSII?ATION SEC ...,._.,._.._.,,.. On 14 February 1955, the following materiel and soldiers were detrained at the Berman, freight station: 8 x 76-man AT guns, 25 to 30 tracks of a now type, 4 sidecar motorcycles, 2 technical trucks, 2 ambulances, 3 )eepe,2 field kitchens, 2 sedans, 3 trucks with equipment, 2 tank trucks and, approximately 200 soldiers wearing red..bordered black epaulets. The unit moved to the SS Btieftauben- station (pigeon station) (4243) in Berman. 3 of Bornstedt. 9 7. on 4 and 2& FekEMU 1 , 5 and 9 rocket launchers reaectively left the army sclotbWag depot I (4244) in Bernau. 5 8. The following rail movements and detraining operations were observed at the Satzkorn railroad station during the period from 17 to 20 February ims At 1115 on 17 February: A train which passed through the railroad station 25X1 from Jueterbog included 3 JS-1 tanks, 2 X-13s, 2 M.31s, 1 armored personnel with soldiers, 20 tracks 6 25X1 At 1145 on 19 February: A train which pas Oft the railroad station from Jueterbog and proceeded to Bernan inc de 152wama field howitzers, 16 prime movers, 2 workshop trucks, 3 field kitchens, 04 tracks, 9 boxcars with soldiers and 2 boxcars with a'ition. 7 At 0515 on 20 Febru : A train which came from ed. carried 21 T-54 tanks, troops on 2 boxcars 8 25X1 9. At about 1100 on 10 Febr arr 1955, 12 T-34 tanks moved through Pappel Allee in Potsdam from the direction 25X1 1. Con ent. The details on the amphibious car with track-laying chassis confIrm. previous assumptions. To ether with the vehicles ~served'detralned in Eberswalde, the Fourth Gds ArW is believed to be equipped with a total of about 30 amphibious c of this type. The vehicles.oned in the present report were probably distributed to the 3d cgs t of the army which has so far only been located in Camp Duesterwinkelbrke (4343) in gberswalde. The observations of 15 February indicate that elements of this reAO&Amt are also quartered in the Schiuetzen Kaserne (4342) in Ebersw e. In reports, all drivers observed Lh these amphibious cars in Eber wore 'red..bordered black epaulets. Comment. A firing detail of the 120th (?) AAA Regt of the 6th Gds Meoz Div returned to the post. 2.IComment. the unit 25X1 is an element', `o the s Macs Regt of the 6th Gds Mecz Div from the 25X1 Artillerie Kaserne (4341) in Eberawalde which was presumably transferred to the Templin troop training grounds for exercises. 3- 5. 25X1 Comment. According to the composition of the train and the destination, 25X1 the unit probably was a component of the 71st Light Arty Brig of the Fourth Gds Medz Army which returned to the post from firing practices. Until the present time, no heavy AT guns have been observed with this brigade. Since the guns were covered with canvas, no proper identification was possible. They are believed to have been 100 mm AT guns. 6. Commaent. Commaent. The new arrival of taoks.of the new type (T/54 ?) in Satzkorn 25X1 is belieted to bring the total of now tanks which arrived at the 10th Cade Tank Div to aboiM tanks of +,his type. 9.
