Information--
1. Air activity.and aircraft observed at Rechlin-Laerz: ,irf_eld between
27 November 1954 and 6 January 1955: 25X1
27 November. There was no air activity. About 30 MiG-15s or U.=M4iG-15s
were parked side-by-side about 300 meters southeast of the i:ip in the.
fence in the flying lane along the Vietzen-Laerz road. Of throe aircraft
22 counted and another 8 estimated. About 15 swept-back jet fighters were
seen along the eastern edge of the field. Only the rudder a3somblies of these
aircraft could be definitely observed.
6 to "1f December. Air activity by 1 iG-15s was repeatedly observed from a
large distance. Take-offs were repeatedly made in elements of two. The
aircraft remained aloft about half an hour and landed individually.
6 January. No air activity was observed. About 20 MUG-158 or U-MG-153
were parked south of the main runway. 1
2. A Token-type radar set was observed 1 km east of the road intersection
between the Rechlin,-Laerz and Vietzen-Retzow roads. 2
A board fence about 2.5 meters high surrounded the airfield.along the
Viet!:en-Laerz road..The area of the field could only be observed from a
cap in the fence in the direction of the runway. 3
1. ~omment. It is believed that Rechlin-Laerz airfield is still occupied 25X1
by a fighter division headquarters and two fighter regiments.
