1. During the first three weeks of September 1951+9 several six-engined.(sic) pro-
peller-driven aircraft were observed flying over Arkhangelsk. They had
swept-back wings and .a thick fuselage. one such airplane flying north
passed over the city approximately twice a day,
the aircraft originated from~an airfield sotithea
s , of ngelsk.
2. Every daystwo?enginei-and four=engineiiaircraft passed over Arkhangelsk in
small groups. They flew in the direction of Murmansk, and returned after 25X1
several hours.
3. Jet aircraft in groups of from five to ten. were often seen at high altitudes
over the city.
