This is UNEVALUATED Information
1. In July 1954, the airfield west-southwest of Allenstein (53?47tN/20?29'E)
had a.sodded landing field. Two or 3 small, former German, hangars were
available. No construction work was seen being done at the field prior to
July 1954. On weekends, the field was used by the Liga Lotnicza, the Polish
spouting fly&ng association, on weekdays the field was used as training 25X1
grounds by Polish military personnel stationed ij Allenstein. A few
biplanes and gl.idara were parked in the hangars9

th a concrete runway. The field had not
been used o#tr he war and was unoccupied and unguarded. In early 1953
signboard posted around the field indicating that the area
was a mi $ttN - {rvation and off limits. Roads leading to the field
were blocked by barbed-wire fences. Prior to the summer o5 1953, there
were no indications for reconstruction work at the field.
3. According to construction w an airfield was under
construction near MarcinkowO r 42tN/20?40tE). In
July 1954, construction world on for 2 or 3 years
was not yet completed. Many farmers living southea~t of Allenstein had
to supply horses and wagons for construction work.
4. In 1952 and 1953 construction work was under way on the airfield near
Wormditt (54?07tN/20?08'E)0 Fifteen to 20 trucks were dispatched daily
to the construction site from the branch agency of the State Motor
Traffic Enterprises (PKS) at Wormditt. Farmers from Guttstadt (53?59TN/20?24tE)
along,, with their horses and wagons were also employed for the work at the
field. Personnel of the PKS branch agency in A1l,enstein were inolin1d to
leave their jobs and work at the field because of better pay there.

was not utilized until 1952 was received previously* The field had two
runways, eac about 1,100 meters long.
Comment. The construction of an airfield near Marcinkowo was
reported previously. , Contrary
to referenced report, the present report indicates that construction
work had already been started 2 to 3 years before.
