The following table lists the reserve stock situation'in BHT coke in the listed enterprisest a T.,1'CI nas about 8,000 tons which must be withdrawn from its waste dump (Halde), as unutilizable. b. EK West, Calbe, has requested withdrawal of about 10,000 tons from its waste dump. c. The Matyas Rakosi plant has about 4,000 tons stock-piled on its waste dump. d. EK West, Calbe, has about 5,000 tons in reserve. Because Of its poor quality, this coke will only be used in an emergency. e. About 29,200 tons will have to be delivered to oepmumers not pro- vided for in the original Plan. This gives a total of 47,200 tons which were originally allocated as "metallurgical coke" in the Material Balance Plan (Materialbilanz). o cuality and amounts, for 1955 in the Metallurtioal Ind 5. the Ministry for Heavy Industry reduced the production of 1191,4ooke from 700,000 tons to 550,000 tons. In- cluded in this latter amount are 330,000 tons of coke over 30 w. in sine. In line with this production of MR coke, 25X1 HT coke was foreseen for use in the EwIn 1955. 25X1 in 1955 about 17,000 tons of coke would be used monthly 25X1 i.e., an annual total of about 200,000 tons) in the metallurgical industry. The remaining 130,000 tons will have to be used in the chemical industry or in the lime factories (Xalkwerken). Approximate figures of 50,000 tons for the Leung Works and 20,000 tons for the lime factories were given. Thus, there remains an amount of about 60,000 tons of BW coke to be utilised in 1955. Allegedly, this amount will be used as hosting coke by greenhouses (Treibhausgaertnereion) or hospitalse 6. The Special State Commission for Fuel Problems informed 0 Moscow of the above situation, since the Council for Economic Mutual Assistance (Rat fuer gegenseitige Wirtsohaftshilfe) in Moscow was still 'using the 420,000 ton production figure furnished them by the State Planning Commission. 7. This Special Commission also indicated that imports of pit-coal coke {Steinkohlenkoks) would have to be increased in 1955 in direct re- lation to the falling-off of production of metallurgical BHT coke, in order to maintain crude iron production. ~, m r nt,a 1..
