Between 7 dovember and 1 December, traffic through Kuestrin-Kietz included:
Westbound. Two to 3 trains with hard coal and 2 to 3 freight trains with
undetermined load daily.
1a:,stbound. Four to 5 trains of empty gondola cars daily and up to 3 trains
with potash on several days. 11
Comment. This shipment possibly consisted of ration supplies for the
ration supply depot of the Third Shock Army.
Comment. The dispatch of this type of flatcars, which has a load capacity
of 80 to 90 tons, to the East may indicate that further tank shipments from
the TUSR may be expected.
Comment. These shipments were connected with the current motor vehicle
Comment. Probably fuel shipment for the bomber regiment at 3riesen
airfield which is served by the Brand railroad station.
I Comment 5.
Comment. Siich cars are produced for the USSR at the VEB :: lechverformunEswerk 25X1
at Leipzig.
Comment. These railroad cars were exported to the USSR. The Soviet-gauge
wheel sets carried along are used on these cars in the USSR.
__Comment. Deliveries from the uranium ore mining district in Sa*ony to
the USSR amount to about 10,000 tons per month.
8. 0 Comment. Raw material deliveries for the Eisenhuettenkombinat Ost (Foundry
Combine East) at Fueretenberg/Oder which is served by the Ziltendorf railroad
station.
Approved For Release 2008/06/13: CIA-RDP80-0081 OA005800050003-3

it is riot clear whether they werd connected with the motor vehicle
exchange program or were involved in export deliveries of Horch three-ton
trucks to the US$R or Red China. The latter is believed to be more credible.
10. Comment. Shipments of rails of type R 50 for the improvement of the
East German railroad net have already been observed previously.
l . I Comment. In addition to the Horka, Forst and Guben border stations,
Kuestrin is used for hard coal imports from Poland in spite of a longer
route.
