2. Including abo>t 29500 carate which had already been delivered by 2 June
1954, the DWV, howa>:ver, oxpec..ed to be able to provide a total of only
abpfit 10,800 carats of raw diamonds. About 40%f of these diamonds were to
be us?d for draping dies and 60% for tools. Contracts were to be drawn up
between the DWV and Kebelwerk Koepenick for 7,200 carate and between the
DWV and Zeiss Jena for 3,600 carats. All of the diamonds for drawing dies
were to go to the Kabelwerk Koepenick, while about 453' of the diamonds for
tools were to go to the Kabelwerk Koepenick and the remaining approximately
5%, to Zeiss Jena.

5. The DWV was to arrange through the Ministry for Foreign and Domestis'e Trade for
the import of the remaining requirements of raw diamonds-7,800 carats- and diamond
bort- 17,000 carats - and the report was to be submitted by the DWV to the
Ministry for Machine Construction by the end of June 195+ stating whether the
remainder could or could not be obtained. It it could not be obtainecj.,the Main ,~?-
Administrations of Cable and Apparatus and of Precision Meeh*aics and Op6ics
would be required to alter their industrial diamond plans.
