electronic tube production plant. The department dealing with tube development
still has a large number of qualified experienced workers. The following con-
temporary development should be particularly noted. ,
b. Magnetron for two to four centimeter wave length. This unit is
destined for a collision protective instrument (radar) to be developed at
Funkwerk Koepenick.
c. Magnetron for four to nine centimeter wave length. 25X1
d. Three centimeter wave length klystron.1
2. The,miagnetron development engineer, Bleik (fnu), who was in Russia,
has been arrested. He used to live in West Berlin.
3. The television development section of this enterprise is allegedly to
be turned over to the,$tate television studios.
4. Dr. Wilhelm Oertel, who used to be in Russia, resigned from this plant
alud h am. b j n we-rking at Funkwerk Koepenick. The development of UHF and TV
~~. jranaa been greatly hindered by this transfer.

1. Rudolf Manthey has replaced Wilhelm Grimm,
It is not known, however, whether Mantheyy took over all of Grimm's
functions.
2, Anticollision devices (radar) which were developed in this plant, are to
be tested on the high seas in the fall of 1954.
(Comment-: A UHF oscillator with two rhimbatrons acting as 25X1
buncher and catcher.
