E 40-28), opposite and slightly to the west of Solombala. The second air-
field was located opposite and slightly to the west of Port Ekonomiya, that is,
immediately south of the small branch of the river. The third airfield was 25X1
located opposite and slightly to the west of the town of Kiziou (sic)which
is located on a small island.
This material contains information affecting the Na-
tional Defense of the United States within the mean-
ing of the Espionage Laws, Title 18, Q.S.C. Secs. 793
and 794, the transmission or revelation of which In
any manner to an unauthorized person is prohibited
by law.

ship was in.the port of Arkhangelsk on 30 November 1953,
airfields in the vicinity of the Dvina River. One air- 25X1
field was located on the southeastern side of Khabarka Island (N 64-35,
2. Twin-engine bombers were observed taking off and landing at these airfields.
In addition, single-engined jet aircraft were seen flying over the area of
the airfields, although none were observed landing or taking off from these
fields..
Open-air lumber yards, which were located: along the entire length of the
river banks in front of the above airfields, impeded observation of the
airfields from the river.
