11 S_I Lankow site
At map reference UTM PE 575468 (about 2 kms due NW of Schwerin town center)
a large tower was seen and photographedon 18 August 1954. It was estimated
by eye to be about 40 m high. It was by no means clear whether it was really
an electronic installation; it was thought possible that it might be merely
some kind of pumping tower.
2. The Schwerin radio site is situated on Moewenburg Strasse at point PE 603473.
It is spoken of locally as the Schwerin-Woebbelin site, and is said to be
1nL ' contaot:iwith a similar site at Woebbelin(point PE 6720). The mast was
estimated by eye to be about 100 m high and was photographed on 18 August 1954.
3. Schwerin-Neumuehlee water tower and nearby building
a. Two paraboloid aerials were seen and photographed on the water tower on
the 86-m high hill just outside Schwerin at point UTM 570454; this was
on 18 August 1954. The tower, est .mated by eyetAGbe..,*?91t RQ m;_h:i.gh, Was
photographed from the southeast. One,then seemed to be looking almost
right into one of the paraboloids; the other was seen from the side and seemed
to be pointing west-southwest. Unfortunately, it was not possible to
walk all round the tower.
b. About 150 m from the tower was a large building which looked new. The
cross pieces appeared to point in the same directions as the paraboloids
(sic). A man in uniform was seen near this building; from. a distance,
it was impossible to tell what his uniform was,
