At 0300 hours 'on 25 June 195) a~ ship approached Leningrad, a large naval vessel, apparently a cruiser, was observed at anchor one and one-hal't''nautical miles west of'Kronshtadt lightship ,l The cruiser was observed a'gain:at the crime location on 30 June. It had a heavy four-legged-must with a fire control station, and'another mast in front of'the after funnel. Two triple-gun turrets were on the foredeck. North of the. cruiser, in no definite formation, were the O1 YABRSEkYA RE2NaMTSIYA, the AUMZRAL MAXAROV, three destroyers, and a number of minesweepers. 2. At 0100 hours on. 30 June, in Kronshtadt harbor, four sub- 25X1 marines, three of'which had a silhouette similar to that of the German type XXI. The fourth submarine had a'tower silhouette like that of the M-89. None of the vessels had guns on deck. A cruiser, apparently of the same type as that seen at the lightship, was in the Kronshtadt shipyard. De- stroyer which, bad a long hull with two stacks, lay under the 25X1 bridge. legged mast aft 'o bridge. There was about a boat's length between the bridge and the stack and a narrow space between the bridge and fore- castle. It had one gun fore and one aft. There was a large drum covered vithea d there were mine rails on both sides of the stern. three or 'four merchant ships at the quay. The loading quay at Leningrad was in very poor condition. On the quay there were five five-ton gantry cranes operating on rails. Besides the crane rails, there were two railroad tracks, one of'which ended before the end of the loading area.
