first-named Institute, but these cells are of inferior quality. The
crystal of the cells developed by the Institute for Research on the
Physles of Solids is more sensitive than those previously developed,~
-1 -1s better crystal-growing installation available in the Institute
for Rssotrch on the Physics of Solids. Furthermore, the electrodes of the
cell are of gold; the crystal carrier is of glass and has the electrodes
melted into it.

2. The voltage for th-e-operation of the cell is 30V direct voltage. The 25
maximum current is 5mA. The Institute has put out small numbers of
these cells. VEB Carl Zeiss, Jena, is to produce them later in greater
numbers. 1
