During the morning of 30 June 1954, the w_aa no air activity at FarCh?-iot airfieic a 'w+ ntyytwo .G-153 and U-- GIs, including 4 ai :.t ai: -craft at the `;3 es were and of the r'.araway, and 2 tvia-engine aircraft, 't ,, f, parked at the field. On 28 July, the following 'aircraft were obset?ved at the field: 16 MG-15s and U-N .G.15s including 8 at the wooterr end of the runway and 8 at the northern edge of the field, 2 L1 s, and 3 twin-jet aircraft ?a1th straight leading edges on the wings, and swept-hack rudder a.ss ably. The twin= pt aircraft were lar-t; era than the MUG-15s. About 0900, a MUG-15 approached for a landing at an altitude of about 8CC meters. The aircraft took off three times during the morning and made flights of 10 to 15 minutes duration. No other air activity was obsertieO throughout the morning although the weather was favorable 1 2. A Flshnet.type radar set was still located at the northern edge cd' taie field. Nearby were 3 masts most parts of which were obstrugt'd from view by 'tries. As previously, a radio at next to a low wooden building was still observed about 30C meters northeast of the field, on the other side of the road leading to Dam. 2 The quartering buildings on hammer Weg tisert guarded by air force sentries and appa.rently,.wee occupied to capacity. About 20 childron were playing there. Of 12 officers observed going from. the quartering buildings to the 'field 7? wore war decorations. Two trucks each mounting, a machine gun on a tripod were parked at the southwestern end of the xruzw- ay. 3. On 30 June and 20 July there was little vehicular traffic 4. , In July, whenpassing several times along the field, about 20 2'iG-15s and U 4 tG--i5s, 2 L1-2s and 1 Yak-14 were observed there. Night flying activity and firing at towed sleeve targets were repeatedly pr?actia3d. 5.
