SCRET,
6. On the evening of 28 June 1954, nu ns tracks of track laying vehicles
led from the former Henry Hall Faqiory to the Fuerstenwalde freight
station. The station was cordonne off by sentries. In the morning
of 29 June, trucks continually drove from the factory to the freight
? station. They carried boxes and motor vehicle tires which were loaded
onto freight cars. At noon on 29 June, 4 prime movers were loaded onto
flatcars,
7. In early June, it was learned that; the quarters of the engineer depot
in Fuerstenwalde were to be reconditioned and reoccupied by about
300 Soviet soldiers, who had hitherto been quartered in a building
outh of the point where the railroad line crosses Langewahler
Strasse. The engineer equipment depot was 3 square km in size
and was occupied by a guard unit, administrative personnel and workshop
personnel. The quarters have room for about a battalion. About 70 German
workers were employed in the repair shop which was supervised by a
Soviet major. Work done at the shop included general repair work on
engineer equipment and bridge building equipment. 6
8. In early Tune 1954, two AA batteries of 4 x 37 guns each were
observed along the road to Langhl, between the prises of the
former Asuko Plant and the former Cable Plant, which was occupied
by Soviet units at that time. 1
9. In early June 1954, three buildings of the former Waldfrieden sanatorium
south of Fuerstenwalde airfield quartered about 400 soldiers. A fourth
building housed a medical depot with officers, nurses and administrative
personnel. 7
10. The following is a list of rail shipments which arrived at, or were
dispatched from, the railroad stations of Fuerstenwalde and Bad Saarow
in, May and June 1954:'
