Approved For Release 2007/09/25: CIA-RDP80-0081 OA004700680007-2 CtASSWICATIONX51 mumw) Austria (Soviet Zone) PI A('.F OBTAINED TOPIC Soviet Troop Trains EVALUATION- DATE OF CONTENT. i ATE OBTAINED 4FERENCES_ 25X1- ATE PREPARED 4 August 1954 PAGES 1 ENCLOSURES (NO. & TYPE) REMARKS 1. On 27 June 1954, a troop train of 2 boxcars and 11 flatcars with light AA guns passed through Bruck on the Leitha River (P 49/X 77). The train came from Wallern (P 48/X #84) and went to Stockerau (0 49/S 21).1 25X1 2. On 28 June., a troop train of 4 coaches and 16 flatcars from Wallern ur~-s seen at the Parndorf railroad station (P 4S/X 77) where it was coupled with. another shipment of 18 cars with trucks from Paden (0 49/X 37) and its vicinity. The The troop train was later dispatched to Hegyeshalom (P 48/Y 06).` 25X1 Comment. the troop train on June 1954 probably carried contingents of the 23d AAA Div from the Apetlon AAA range to their home station. Changes in equipment with AA guns and motor vehicles observed at Camp Apetlon in late June 1954 were posFibly connected with the above rail movement. 1 11 1 Comment The redispatching to Hungary of a troop train from Wallersdorf at the Parndorf railroad station again confirms that the Apetlon AAA range is also used by Soviet units stationed in Hungary. 25X1 Approved For Release 2007/09/25: CIA-RDP80-0081 OA004700680007-2
