1. Offensive hand grenade Skoda RG 35:
a. Description: The greratade is of cylindrical ahape, thin-walled, 80 mm high and
65 mm in diameter. Its sheet metal cover is approximately 1 mm thick. About
30 mm from the top V steel ribbon 10 mm wide and 50 cm long is wound around
the' grenade. The end of the ribbon is fastened by a safety pin equipped with
a ring. The fork-like safety pin is secured in its position by a lead.seal;
when the lead seal is removed, the grenade is armed.
b. Use and production: It is an anti-personnel grenade. Before use, the ring
is slipped on the left thumb and turned 180?. The safety fork jumps out and
the grenade is thrown.. hile the grenade is in flight, the steel ribbon
unwinds and falls off. The grenade explodes by impact. If the ribbon does
not fall off, the grenade will not explode. The explosion produces a strong

2. Antitank hand grenade:
a. Description: The grenade is pear-shaped, with a handle at its broader end.
The overall length is 25 cm; the handle is about 5 cm in diameter and the
body in its widest part about 13 cm in diameter. The grenade, made of cast
iron, is strengthened by a belt I+ cm wide and 3 mm thick in the middle. The
broader end of the grenade has walls.approxj.mtely 5 mm thick. It can be
screwed off) and the detonator set, before throwing the grenade., The handle
has a knob which must be pressed when the grenade is being thrown, in order
to separate the handle from the grenade. The s.3abilizer which i$ hidden in-
side of the handle controls the flight of the grenade. The grend.de explodes
only when it lands on its end, i.e. a point-detonation type grenade. The

stabilizer has four steel fins. The explosive charge is comprised of 1.5 kg
of T.N;T.
b. Use: It is an antitank grenade. Its explosion .forms a.crater 50 cm deep
and 2 m in diameter.. The effective area is up to 2.5 m. around the point
of impact. The shrapnel has a destructive effect (sic) up to a distance of
100 M.
