(FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) 1. in Komsomolsk in 19489 when one or two battleships or cruisers had been partially built in that city, it was not possible to fit the superstructures to the hulls this was because the Amur River channel was'of insufficient depth to, accommodate the draft of the fully-built vessels. The ships were floated minus superstructures, to the bay Cpoesibly Sakhalinski~ali 7 during the nter months the Amur River is frozen over. 2. After the construction of these ships, possibly a battleship (lineynyy korabi), heavy cruiser (tyazhelyy kraiser), or cruiser (kraiser)s the shipyards at Komsomolsk refused to accept orders for the construction of additional capital ships, and that thenceforth only the construction of smaller vessels-would be undertaken. These new projects were to include submarines, destroyers, minesweepers, frigates and perhaps MTBs. submarines were built at Komsomolsk before and after the capital ship incident mentioned above.
