1. The cgnstructfoi of a railroad bridge over the Oder River at Raciborz (Ratibor) was
started in , the Spring of 1953, approximately ten meters to the right (viewed from
the.town,) of the old, destroyed, railroad' bridge.
2. The piles of the new bridge have been erected, and work i, in progress on the sur-
face. Foundations for two tracks were-observed to have been constructed. Hitherto
a temporary wooden bridgeeerected on the piles #4f the destroyed bridge, has been in
use for rail-traffic. When the new bridge i$ put into co>mnission,.the old tracks
will have to be transferred. Earth works are proceeding for this purpose at the
new bridge.

Location: coordinates 50P 5.5 N; 180 141E. Nearest 'towntRacibor* ( tibvr)e
grosses the Oder River where the river is aptroximAel7 O
fide and approximately 2.5 to 3 meters deep.
Bridge Description:. Approximately 60 meters long snd 9 meters wide, it has
three ferroconcrete piles. The'distance above the water
is approximately 1..5 meters and the.openings between the
piles measure approximately 12 meters each (see sketch).
4. The bridge will be used by the railroad line going from Raciborz to Kedzierzyn
(Seyd.breck) and will have two tracks.
