It is rumored that Polish Army terminology for officer ranks, including generals, will be changed to correspond to Soviet Army terminology; there will be four general ranks, i.e., i~~jor mineral, ~,ieutenant ~~neral, etc., and the f~,fth will be marshal. 5. The reserve officers corps is being modernized-and .augmented year by year. Every reserve officef is recalled to the army for a six-to-eight weeks period each year. Each reserve officer, moreover, is called to attend the sa-called reserve off~,~ers '"control meetings" (zebrania kontrolne dla oficerow rezerwy), which are held six .times a year. Theoretically, and as stipulated in the ch~,~ter, the control meetings should last 12 hours at.most, but the officers are usually obliged to remain three days, depending on the nature of the exerc~;pe or training. Reserve-officers called to attend the control meetings are issued free railway tickets, food, and lodging, but receive no remuneration inasmuch as they continue to receive wages from their civilian employers during this period.
