During the period fror 16 December 1953 to 10 January 1954, Oranienburg airfield was still unoccupied. On 16 and 29 December, biplanes were .repeatedly observed circling over the field. 3. No construction work was observed at the field after 17 December. The gate at the canal bridge on the northeastern edge of the field which had previously been used by the construction workers, was closed by barbed wire. The fuel dump in the northeastern section of the field was surrounded by a barbed wire fence, about 2.5 meters high. There was a ladder leading up to the entirely covered containers from which projected an iron rod or tube, about 1 meter high. 5. On 2 January, coal was being unloaded from five railroad cars on the spur track at the field and subsequently dispatched to the Weisse Stadt Settlement. On $ January, an eripty flatcar was observed on the spur track. 6. No construction activity has been observed at the airfield since 20 December. No railroad cars were shunted on the spur track prior to 28 December. The. guard house at the northern entrance of the field was occupied. Pegs, about 1 meter high, were fitted on top of the turf-covered fuel containers in the northeastern corner of the field. 2 25X1 1.1 Comment.
