On 15 December 1953 a Partido Socialista Popular (PSP, Cuban Communist Party)
leaflet, attacking the United States policy toward Guatemala, was circulated
at the University of Habana. The leaflet, which was received favorably by the
students, tried to create sympathy for Guatemala by using such concepts
as intervention, sovereign rights, and imperialism.
