The headquarters of the Durzhavno Stroitelno Obedinenie (State Construction Enter- prise)9 subordinate to the Ministry of Construction, is located at Sofia. The mission of this agency is to provide for the construction of public buildings, schools, hospitals, etc. Bach political-administrative subdivision of the country (b-tg) has a directorate. Burgas Directorate 2. The okrug directorate of the State Construction Enterprie.e in Burgas is located at Noe 14 Atanas Slavov Street. It employs approximately 100 persons, including technical directors and workers. The number of workers subordinate to the okrug directorate veries according to the season; in the season of greatest actirity (summer-autumn) a maximum of 400 to 500 workers are employed. 3, Construction materials are furnished by the "Predpriatie Durzhavni Dostavki" (State Supply Agency) with headquarters in Sofia and directorates in each okrug center. The headquarters of the Burgas Directory are at No. 140 IX September Street. This organization assigns materials only upon authorization of the Central Directorate at Sofia. 14. ..Work carried out by the Burgas unit in the period 1919 to June 1953 has been as follows s a. Houses for workers. in the zone north of the Georgi Dimitrov Quarter of Burgas; a development consisting of 25 or 30 two-story buildings, with four apartments per building; b. A polyclinic near the State Hospital in the zone east of the city of Burgas6 c. A skin and venereal diseases department in the Aytos Hospital; d. New buildings for a soap factory located 500-600 meters northwest of the Burgas railroad station; f. A new factory for the production of electrical materials, known as "Kabelna Fabrika Vasil Kolarov," located in the northwest outskirts of Burgas, approxi- mately 2,9500 meters from the city center and about 500 meters from the railroad station, this work was started in 1950 and completed at the end of 1952; g. Enlargement of the old electric light bulb factory, formerly known as the "Belfa Factory8" of Sliven; this work was completed in 1952; h. An unknown iixamber of civilian houses at Sliven; i. Grain silos, capacity 1,000-1,504 tons, at the Chernograd railroad station leted k was comp (locality about midway between Aytos and Karnobat); this wor in 1952 Grain silos, capacity 2,500 tons, located 15 to 20 kilometers west of Karnobat; this work was completed in 1952; k. Two grain storeho.a.ses, capacity not known but stated to be greater than 2,000 the mill i n tons each, constructed in the vicinity of the city flour industrial area two or three kilometers northwest of the city center of Burga,,, this work was completed in 1952; A grain storehouse,, pacity appr^o cimately 2,000 tons, in the railroad Statio; enolosur^e at, Aybos; this installation was completed in 1952; m. A grain storehouse, rapacity approximately 2,000 tons, near the railroad station at Kar?nohat; this installation was completed in 19523 n. A coal depot, constructed In 1951 in the western outskirts of Burgas about 1,500 meters from the city center; this depot is a wood-and-tile covered Shed about I.0 by 12 meters in size, supported by masonry column;; it has a spur line connected with the port railroad line; and o. Work on a large new hospital at Karnobat was started in 19503 an estimated 500,000,000 leva (old currency).was appropriated for the completion of the project, but work was suspended in 1950, allegedly for economic reasons.
