The following is a translation from Indonesian of a directive of the Central
Committee of the Partai Komunis Indonesia (CCPKT.) signed by Sudismano
Djakarta, 10 November 1953

TO: Instructions to all committees of the PKI
In accordance with the note of the Secretary General of the Politburo of the P1(1
of Djakarta dated 9 November 1953, we request all committees of the PK.:C and the
Politburo to carefully guard the use of the PKI seal since the Masjumi Central
Executive Committee has been slandering the good name of the PK_I in the Makassar
area and throughout West Java.
Therefore, you are requested on receipt of this letter to verbally explain this
to our agents at headquarters as well as in the branches and to instruct them
to screen and blacklist all members of the Masjumi whom we will resist.
It is obvious that the Masjumi is an instrument of Van der Plas of the Dutch
and America.
Expenses incurred in connection with this will 'e defrayed as per accounts
issued which may be. sent to the CC at the end of each month.
