Alamment.
As compared with the last reported period, the present report indicates
that incoming shipments from the USSR increased 20 percent with a total of 8,123
cars, or 387 cars per day against 313 ears per day reported previously. A total
of 224 loaded refrigerator cars* arrived from the USSR, signifying an increase from
8 carloads to 11 carloads per day. Fruit and vegetable shipments remained about
constant, with a total of 234 carloads or a daily average of 11 carloads. Although*
grain shipments were not indicated as such in the present report, it is believed

213 soh cars entered East Germany during the reyorted period, representing a
daily average of 10 cars against 18 cars reported previously. It could not be
determined whether the shipTent of new trucks on 32 flatcars with sideracks,
was earmarked for civilian or military consumption. ,50X1-HUM
kiL.Immt. Eastbound shipMents included empty ears which had carried grain,
ore, reparati.ons, and export deliveries. A total of 498_carloads of
uranium ore were dinatched to the USSR. This is a daily average of 24 carloads
which corresponds to the previously observed volume of this traffic.
