The Construction Office at 7 Pushkin Allse, Potsdam, had previously been in charge of the Special Construction Offices located at 134 Eisenbahn- strasse in Werder and also offices in Neuruppin and Witteaberg. These special construction offices handled air force construction projgcts ee- elusively. On 1 July 1953, the special construction offices at Neuruppin and Wittenberg were deactivated by order of the KEO. The personnel of the closed offices were then discharged. 2. The Special Construction Offices of the air force received their orders from the "Keehn Offices of the air force in Werder, Neuruppin and Wittenbere. It is believed that along with the Special Construction Offices, the corres. ponding "Kech" Offices were closed. After the Kech office of the air force at Werder had been closed, the 'erder Special Construction Staff had to co- operate with the Potsdam Army Kech Office. 3. Prior to 1 July 1953, the Special Construction Office at Werder Was in charge of the following air bases: Werder, Falkensee, Elstal, Rangsdorf, Schoenwalde, Koenigswusterhausen, Pad Saarow, Schoenefeld, Strausberg, Werneuchen, Erand Finsterwalde and Welzow. After 1 September 1953, these air bases were reor- ganized with regard to construction work. Werder, Falkensee, Elstal, Rangs- dorf and Sdhoenwalde air bases remained assigned to the Werder Special Con- struction Office. Brandenburg-Priest airfield was also subordinate to Warder. Air bases which were assigned to the Army Special Construction Office at Frank- furt/Oder included those at Koenigswusterhausen, Bed Saarow, Schoenefeld? Strausberg and Werneuchen. The air bases at Brand. FinsterwaIde and ''elzow were assigned to the !my Special Construction Office at Luckenwaldeo 4. The Werder Special Construction Office worked with abut 70 employees including engineers and draftsmen, including the construction and repair of barracks, as well as the construction of sanatoriums, officer houses and some hangers were handled by theeffice.
