There are about 300 hard-.core Chinese Communists in Palembang, where they have taken over the Chinese schools and have placed between 45 and 60 China-trained teachers in the schools. Communist literature and propaganda make up a large part of the curriculum of these schools. 2. The Communists have been able to take over the Chinese schools by saying the schools will be supplied much-needed money if they will teach the Communist program. They have been able: to extract contributions from Chinese businessmen by saying the Chinese Communist Government would eventually control Indonesia and those who did not contribute would then be jailed.
