Attached is a rough sketch of the military and civilian airfields at Lodz. 50X1-HUM Mita:: Airfield (No. 1 on Sketch) 0 The airfield covers anlarea of about 250,000 square meters. The airfield has four runways of concrete slabs; the runways are about 15 meters wide and are flush with the ground. Each arm is about 300 meters long. There is one hangar which is 40 meters long, 15 meters wide, and 18 meters high. Near the hangar there are six or seven wooden huts painted green. Thirteen single-engined aircraft, with Polish markings, were observed. The airfield is surrounded by a concrete wall and, on the side of the civilian airfield, by low wire netting. Civilian Airfield (No. 2 on Sketch) 3. The, civilian airfield has three concrete runways, each 12 meters wide, raised above ground level. Each is of a?different length, the shortest is about 150 meters and the longest, about 200 meters. A wireless telegraph aerial was seen on top of the LOT (Polish Commercial Airlines) building. 40 no radar aerials or unidentifiable installations on either airfield. 50X1-HUM SECRET/CONTROL-UC S.
