1. The Ccnstruction and ...xperimental Department (Kanstruktions-und Versuohs-
abteilung) (KoV) of Vi,.13 Carl Zeiss, Jena, has completed the development of
a device called a 7.'hoto $21.cetati 4 measurement instrument (photoelektrische
Nesseinrichtur..g) for spectral absorption measurements. The device will
go into ro(hIction in 1954. It consists of a single-thread electro-
mete a photocell and a sarnj le holder (rrobewechsler). 50X1 -HUM
2. The measurement range of the insty.ument extends from 0.2$ to about 1.0
microns. Very weak nhotocirrrente of ten rower minus 14 amperes can be
measured.. The range can oe extended into the infra-red band by using a
mirror monochramator with a salt prism or by using a loop galvanometer.
