1. Three thousand men wearing black-red epaulets were estimated to have
been stationed in the Luftnachrichten Kaserne'in Bernau between 6 and
18 August.
2. The following number of Vehicles and weapons were observed in the installation:
40 T-34/85 tanks
12 BA 64's
12 x 122 mm model 38 field howitzers
24 x 76.2 mm model 42 AT guns
24 x 120 mm mortars
24 x 82.mm mortars
40 motorcycles with sidecars
250 trucks
3. Infantry, tank, ertillery and signals training took place day and night both
indide and outside the barracks area. In addition, troops also left for two
to three day exercises which were held in the wooded area west of the Bernau-
Finowfurt autobahn. 50X1 -HUM
