It comprised four houses with mud walls and thatched roofs. An air raid shelter was directly behind the main buildings and there was a siren in a building 15 meters northwest of the police station. Thirty persons were assigned to this police station, Their arms consisted of ten 7.62-am, Soviet rifles, ten 7.62-mm. carbines, and pistols. 2. The T I oe o (N 32- E 127-41) (CV-96].7) Branch Police Station. this 50X1-HUM station occupied a two-roomed building - mu w e an a tile roof. There was one telephone in this building. Six policemen were attached to this station. 3. The Chakto-ri (N 39-149! E 127-39) (CV-8108) Branch Police Station, this 50X1-HUM station Occupied an L-11 ape , woo re n oroe , electrically pppe unne at CV-851079, It had one telephone by which it maintained communication with the Soho Fisherman's Cooperative, approximately 100 meters not at CV-850078, and also with Hungnam. Five policemen, armed with one pistol and four rifles, were assigned to this branch station. 4. The Haeju Police Station. this station occupied a converted Japanese 50X1-HUM water point in a man-m hill at YC-378139. The two water tanks had been made into air raid shelters and two air raid trenches had been built. East of the hill a road ran north and south with a branch.road running east. Nine meters east of this road junction, there were 15 steps leading into the mountain to the police inspector's concrete-reinforced office. The Citizenship Card sub-section occupied a room. There were two other rooms, partially above ground and covered with soil. Thirty, were assigned to this station. CHtOE Rwang-yol (1508/0342/3525), was chief of police; YI $u-kil (2621/4423/0679) was chief inspector. cers above the level of sub-section chief carried Soviet rifles. 50X1-HUM 5. The Smnho Branch Station. this branch of the Hongwon-gun (N 39-57, 50X1-HUM E 12-1-50) (DV-0022) Police Station occupied a tin-roofed house in the valley at ]V-024251. Seven persons were assigned to this station, including Junior Lieutenant CHON Chu-sol (0356/0719/1 ), who, .armed with a PPSh-41, visited a nearby village every ten days. on N 38-20 E 125-57 YC-581x6 Branch Police Station. t-mhis station occupied two buildings with black tile roo s at 50X1-HUM YC- 77 . There was an air raid tunnel ten meters north of the buildings. The station consisted of three sections: Ins action, Security, and Citizen- ship Card. YU Ui-sok (0205/5030/6932), was chief of the 17 policemen5OX1-HUM attached to this station. He and the assistant chief were armed with pistols; all other members were armed with PPSh's or rifles.
