The Institute of Industrial Chemical Research, which was formed by expanding the former Industrial Chemical Research Office of the Northeast Scientific Research Institute)and which managed the following research offices, High-pressure Hydrogenation Research Office; High-grade Gasoline Research Office; Analytical Chemistry Research Office; Synthetic Fuel Research Office; and Pottery Research Office. c. Studies by the Synthetic Research Institute and the Institute of Physics and Chemistry at Ch'angah'un in abrasives (mo cho ts'ai lino, I+333/ 820/ 2624/2436), spectrum analysis (chi p'u fen hsi) 2817/6225/0#33/26+9) of iron and steel (sic), wood pulp, and the knobs on the roots of soya bean plants. e. Studies of the Metal Research Institute in the fli h grade steel of Anshan (N 41-04, E 122-57) processing of iron castings (ch'iu mo chu t'ieh) 3808/1075/6999/69935, and problems of heating steel and iron. d. Studies of the Apparatus Research Institute in experimental production of the following: optical apparatus, machines for testing materials, and optical glass. e. Studies by the Civil Engineering and Architectural Institute in the testing of the degree of dryness of lumber and the testing of soil for engineering projects. f. Studies by the Forestry Institute in reforestation of lumbering areas, and establishing of nurseries in forest and sand hill areas. g.
