1. As far as the metallurgical indus
production figures are disputable
no means was the reorganization of industry in 1951
pal. The 1951 changes were but a beginning of a
large-scale reconstruction of industry, and not only`so
in the structural organization of large national enter-
prises, but also, and principally, in the production
programs of individual factories with the tendency
toward higher specialization. Viewed from this 'angle
the production programs stated in the list are somewhat
out of date and incomplete. They may serve as an outline
of production programs as they were in 1951 and before
. This implies also the changes in the structure of natio-
nal enterprises. However, the possibility of changes is
obviously contemplated in footnotes of the list itself.
4. Since the time the information for the list was compiled,
some of the plants listed as under ; construction have
begun operation: Metallurgical Combine in the area of
ZDAR /Section A page 9, bottom/ - some parts of the
plant were put in operation in February 1952, the plant
should be completed in 1955. The construction of FIUKO
/section A. page 9 bottom/ has not been stopped, but
slowed down - partial production started in 1952. The
completion of HUKO is also scheduled, fops 1955.

added to the list, or other information bringing the list more
up to cute.
In Sectinn At Metallurgical Industry in GSR:
1. Page 4, No.4 - supplementary info-cation:

2. Page 6 No.11 - although the blast furnaces of the Miftle
Slovakl.an Iron Works in Podbrezova are designated in the list
as old, the plant had, in January 1953, the best results in
the whole steel branch as far as the fulfillment of plan is
concerned. According to unconfirmed infornation, the machi-
nery of the plant in P odbremDva was partly replaced and re-
newed during 1952.
3? Page 8 - Under No 20 is listed a factory of the Bohemian
Metal Rolling Mills at Povrly /near iisti nad Labem/. 25X1
no evidence of a factory at Povrly which would bel o e
Bohemian Metal Rolling Mills, but there is a factory'-which
should be listed under No-21 on the same pale. This factory
is known as KOVOHUTE, S.M.KIROV Plant at Poorly. Its produc-
tion programs copper smelting and refining.. The processed
copper is supplied to local factories producing cables and
other electrical equipment for the Soviet Union and satellites

In Section B, Machinery Industry:
1? Page 2 - To the list of individual machinery plants should be
added: KOVOSVIT* at SEZIAMOVO USTI, which is under the juris-
diction of the Ministry of Heavy Machinery and produces
various sorts of heavy machinery for local industry as well
as for export. This plant has several branches in Bohemia and
some in Moravia, but most of these fall under the jurisdiction
of the Ministries for Light Industry and General Machinery.

Brno The plant is divided into three parts: 1. Two large
halls for the preliminary processing of raw material - built
in 1944-46. 2. So-called Old Run, the oldest part of the
factory, producing artillery ammunition. 3. So-called New RUn,
producing construction materials RR brakes and also, since
Oct. 1952, some special gadgets for land aria sea mines.

This plant has never been officially called LENIN Plant.
Since January 1; 1952, it is officially known as
K.J. VOROSHILOV S WORKS /ZAVODY K.J.VOROSILOVA/ at DUBNICA
NAD VAHOM, and it should be considered as an individual
national enterprise, not as a branch of the Lenin Works in
Plzen or of the former SKODA Works.
Apart from items listed under the production program, the
plant produces also tractors, special anti-aircraft guns,
trucks parts of tanks, and heavy construction materials.
General Manager of this plant is a Russian, Ing. KRN07,
leading technician is Ing. HECKO, a Slovak. Apart from
regular workers, the plant employs also prisoners from
Ilava Prison.

material and some individual shops had to be closed.

1952 /probsily,in April - date unconfirmed/, and produces
mainly pumps, reportedly submarine pumps for the Soviet
Union /based an three different refugee reports/. The plant
employs approximately 2000 workers. According to recent
information, management and offices are at the site of the
plant, i.e. the address given in the list as OPAVA,K'novskA
2, is out of date.
