Weather was 10/1C overcast, northwesterly moderate winds and reetricted visibility. There was no change in the status of AAA emplacements. Excavation work was seen near the emplacements on the Wiener Neustadt-Bad Fischau road. Round timber was piledup there. Four weapon carriers., 2 jeeps and 2 trucks were arked near the flight control station. drivers with black-borderedblue epaulets were identified there. 2. Source observed 4- trucks, 2 van-like truck 4 and 2-tank truck trailers in -the garages atthe eastern edge of the installation. A signalrtruckams parked in front of the .garages for repair. The Artillerie Kaserne in Wf..ener Neustadt was guarded by a sentry who wore black-bordered blue epaulets, Signal trunks fitted with rod antennas were still seen at the in4ta11ation in the yard in which 3 trucks and 1 weapon carrier were parkedJ !drivers with black-bordered blue epaulets, were seen there. The Nachrichten Kaserne was also guarded by a soldier who wore black-bordered blue epaulets. The AnnPArpd tn 0 more lightly occupied than before. drivers with black-bordered blue epaulets, 25X1B were seen. Aircraft observed at the field between 8 a.n. and 3130 p.m. on 4 May included 40 MIG-15s, 9 twin-jet aircraft, 3 single-engine planes fitted with radial engines and 12 unidentified planes parked in front of the Pyrotechnical plant. There was air activity by riG-15s. Weather was 4/10 overcast with gusty north-northwesterly winds having a velocity of 10 to 15 km/h, ceiling about 2,000 meters and good visibility. Groups of three MIG-15s took off in right stagger formation at 9:25 a.e., 10:15 a.r. and 11:05 a.m. These planes later assembled in V fornation. At 9:57 a.m., 10:50 a.m. and 11:45 tm., groups of three YiG-15s each landed at intervals of about one minute. The AAA eeplacements on Badener Strasse and north of the Wiener Neustadt- Bad Fischau road uere guarded by soldiers who wore red-bordered black epaulets. The AA guns seen there were fitted with funnel shaped muzzles. Three van-like trucks, 5 trucks, 2 trailers and I command bus were parked at the garages at the eastern edge of the fieldor drivers with black-bordered blue epaulets, were seen proceeding to these garages. The flight control station was guarded by a sddier who wore black- bordered blue epaulets. Two trucks and 1 weapon carrier were parked in front of this building. Several crates in the size of a furniture van were set up in a line probably along a spur track, in the area of the pyrotechnical plant.2 There was no change in the status of the radio installations. 6. The Artillerie Kaserne in Wiener Neuetadt was guarded by a soldier who wore black-bordered blue epaulets. Radio trucks were again seen in the yard of the installation. The Nachrichten Kaserne was also guarded by a soldier who wore black-bordered blue epaulets. Three trucks, 2 tank trucks and 1 sedan were parked in the yard of the installation. ' drivers with black-bordered blue epaulets, were also seen 'mere. 25X1B 7. Between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on 15 Way, source observed 33 r1.G-15s, 2 biplanes and 10 unidentified aircraft at the field. Between 8:45 a.m. and 12136 pal,d. individual iG-15s took off at irregular intervals. Weather was 5/10 overcast and visibility good. Al]. the MiG-15s were single seaters and only some of them were fitted with auxiliary fuel tanks.1 8. Source observed a van-like truck fitted with a braced antenna mast about 200 meters east of the take-off point. A box-like truck fitted with an AAH MX III V radar set was seen in the southeastern corner of the field. There was no change in the states of the AAA emplacements on Badenar Strasee0 however, new underground bunkers had been built there. Underground bunkers were under construction at the AAA emplacements north of the Wiener Neustadt - Bad 25X1B Fischau road. The telephone lines extending rrom the direction of the Artillerie Kaserne to the AAA emplacements were checked be soldiers who wore red-bordered black eraulets with artillery insignia. I drivers with black-bordered blue epaulets, were parked in front of the flight control station. Six tracks, 4 tank trucks, 2 trailers and I motorized field kitchen were seen near the garages on the eastern edge of the tield, on a roskovich-type van-like truck whose driver wore black-bordered blue epaulets. A spotlight was mounted on the root of the truck which was fitted with a door at its rear side. Four flatcars were parked on the spur track of the pyrotechnical plant at the western edge of the installation. Source saw five crates in the size of a furniture van by the side of these flatcars. 2 1 9. There was no change in the status of the military installations at Wiener Neustadt, 10. Theresienfeld airfield was guarded by soldiers who wore black-bordered blue epaulets. Three Pe-26 and one Aire Cobra F 63 A plane were parked at the - field. 11. Aircraft observed at the field between 8:20 am, and 4:30 p.m. on 7 !ay included: SOC: RE! After 8:20 a.m., individual take-offs be. Yi(1-15s and twin-jet planes ,ere practiced. Weather was overcast in varying degrees with moderate winds and good visibility. In evite of the prevailing northwesterly winds, the take-offs and landiner were made from north to south. The twin-jet planes headed tovard Voeslau (a 48/i 36), circled over the town and then disappeered, The twin-jet planes had not returned by 4130 p.m. There were several Indications that the twit-jet planes landed at Voeslau The twin-jet planes were fitted with drop-like devices at their wing tips. Some of the planes appeared to have plexiglass noses. 25X1 ? 12. Eqeipment of various -types such as propellers, wrecked aircraft etc, were seen in the area of the pyrotechnical plant. It appeared to source that an air force dump was available at the plant. Three railroad tank cars were seen on a spur track of the Installation. 25X1 13. There was no change in the status of the AAA emplacements on Badener Strasse and north of Wiener Neustadt-Bad Pischau road. No changes were observed at the radio installations. Three Fe-2e and a 1,1-2 were seen in front, of the two small hangars at Theresienfeld airfield, haterial was beina trailed from a truck into a Li-2. 25X1 14. The Artillerie Kauerne in Wiener Neustadt was guarded by a soldier who wore black-bordered nue epaulete.I 'fitted with a rod antenna 25X1B was parked in the yard of the Installation. A sentry with black-bordered blue epaulets was observed at the Nachrichten Reeerne which aepeared to be lightly occuoied. ource saw some trucks in the yard of the installation, but ale Faragee 25X1X were ampty, The former Zadettenanctalt in Pad Fischau quartered soldiere who bore black-bordered blue epaulets. 015. Aircraft oteerved at the field between 9 a,e and noon on 14 May included 39 WIG-15s, le twin-engine planes, 3 single-engine aircraft, 2 biplanes and 3 single-engine high-eine eonoplaneo. Three to five planes were seen aloft. The hollow east of the pyrotechnical plant could not be observed. Weather was 2/10 overcast with moderate easterly wind and good visibility. There was flying by 1iG-15s from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The take-offs wore made individually and in groups of 2 or 4. Groups of two iG-15s who took off in right stagger formation, groups of four PiG-15s in two pairs arranged in right stagger forration. The planes were flying in the same rornations. They landed individually at intervals of about 20 seconds, after 2 to 4 wide circles over the field. I 25X1 ? Air activity was irregular. Sometimes 5 to 13 }LIG-15s took ?if in repeated succession and landed again within a short time.
