A continuous flow of eastbound Soviet troop trains has been observed on the special freight line near Lindenberg, eight kilometers northeast of Berlin, since 25 June. The trains carried artillery pieces, tanks, aircraft and repbirs shops, The trains were said to be enroute to Poland where riots had allegedly been occuring since 23 June. 2. 9bviet units, which had been entrained at the Templin Railroad station on li B ) n er in 18 June, were observed in the area of the Stettiner Bahnof (Nord Bahnhof on 22 June, One-vehicle was identified as belonging to the 6th Guards Mechanized Division. 3. A tank unit was loaded at the Templin railroad station on 28 and 30 June. Bedding and household furniture were takers along. The unit had a new type of tank, similar to the T-44.d 4. The loading of billeting equipment at the Hammeispring railroad station began n 1 di 25X1 25X1 on 28 Jun r,--Three hundred ammunition boxes were observed ready for oa ng o 29 June. ranks and artillery pieces left the barracks on Castaven Lake in Fuerstenberg on 12 and 21 June, enroute toward Gransee. On 20 June the barracks installation was partly vacant.3 25X1 Comments 25X1 25X1 1. The Soviet Army units were probably contingents which have been withdrawn from the Berlin area. It is riot yet possible to conclude whether these troops returned to their home stations or were actually transferred to Poland, 2. Tanks of this new type had previously been observed in Doeberitz and Neuruppin. 7.-'-. '.It is possible that the troop trains carried the units to their home stations. 3.
