1. The Chinese Communist military vessel HAI JUNG (3189/2837) left WhsnPoa
or Tsingtao with-a cargo of rice destined to resupply the
Chinese Communist "volunteers" fighting in Korea. There has. been a famine
25X1 for the last two months in Northeast China, The HAI JUNG has a tonnage of
5,000 and was recently given to the Chinese Communists by the Soviets.
25X1 2. the launch CHUG .AN (7022/1344), towing three junks
heavily leaded with wood oil, left Wuchou (N 23-28, E 111-19) for Whaapoa,
where this oil was scheduled: to be loaded on a Soviet Transport ship bound
for the USSR,

1+. Since the formation of the South China Marine Headquarters under TENG P`!1. g
(6772/549:3), the marines in Kwangtungl have been organized into the 5 Divi6ictin
under WANG Nuo-chung (3769/0948/6850) and the 8 Division under HtJ Ch+un-ring
(5170/2504/2494).

5. The headquarters of a regiment of the 5 Division and the 1 Battalion are at
the port of Sanya (N 18-16, E 109-30). The 2 Battalion is on Naochou Island
(N 20- , E 110- ), and the 3 Battalion is at Malingchen (7+56/154+5/6966) near
the port of Sanya. Two other regiments of the 5 Divsion are in the Wanshan
Islands (N 21- , E 113- ) and in the Whampoa area.
6. The 8 Division is composed of only two regiments and has 6,500 men. The
division headquarters and the 1 Regiment are at Yulin. The 2 Regiment is in
Yaihsien (N 18_21, - E log-10)..3
