15 The following air activity and aircraft were observed at Altenburg airfield between
18 and 24 April 1953-0
A j At 8930 anro, a fighter with radial engine took off, and, for one hour
circled the field at various altitudes. Two swept-back jet fighters were towed to
southern tha of the runway at 9-030 a?m. and took off at 9t4O aomo
the two planes landed at 10:10 a.m.
A l At about 10 apmo , two swept-back et fighters were observed aloft. They
landed at 10-020 a.,,mv At 1O-025 a,,m., another element of two took off for a flight of
about 40 minutes. About 11 a.m.,,,, another element o?' twc took off and practiced
diving over the field At ll t20 aom.o,* two planes continuously dived at the Altenburg
railroad station on the loading ramp of which army troops were being loaded,, About
900 p.m.,, there was night flying by swept-bask jet fighters with set position lights
