The Pemuda Rakjat in East Java has 16 branches with a total membership of forty
thousand.- Membership has rapidly increased in the last six months, but the
organization still is hampered by a lack of funds. The strongest branches in
East Java are those in Tjerme, Djombang, and Bodjqnegoro.
25X1A 1. Comment. In June 1951 the Persatuan Pemuda Indonesia (PERPI), a
leftist group with an estimated 10,000 members, and Gerakan Pemuda Rakjat
25X1A Indonesia (GERPI) joined the Pemuda Rakjat augmenting its membership
considerably. in July 1952 the membership of
2 5X1 C Pemuda Rakjat was somewhat 000 about half of the members being
demobilized Army officers,
